Real situation in Ukraine

Today Ukraine is often on the first page of many newspapers. For people abroad it’s hard to define what’s really going on in Ukraine? What is the myth and where is the truth? We want to clarify the situation to assure our clients that nothing has changed for them in Ukraine. So, let’s set the facts straight.

TRUE:/em> THERE IS NO WAR IN UKRAINE

Myth: It is a civil war in Ukraine

What mass media calls a war is just an operation in some regions in the East of Ukraine. The rest of the country, including the most of the East part, is living its daily life and gets to know what’s going on in the zone of the operation only from the TV, internet and newspapers (just like you do). For those companies (including Letzgro), who have their offices in the West of Ukraine life is just the same as it always was.

TRUE: UKRAINE NOW HAS A STRONG GOVERNMENT ELECTED BY THE MAJORITY OF UKRAINIAN SOCIETY

Myth: The political situation is unstable. There is no legislative government

All governmental branches in Ukraine are legislative. The government was changed in February by a Parliament and President was elected in May by major vote (with 54, 7% rate, not bad, huh?). Both ways according to Ukrainian Constitution are legal, and that’s how Government and President were elected since Ukraine became independent. Today nothing is saying about political instability (even potential) or default.

TRUE: ANY BUSINESS IN UKRAINE IS STABLE AND GETS A HUGE SUPPORT, AS IT IS THE INDEX OF COUNTRY’S IMPROVEMENT

Myth: Due to the political instability it’s hard to do business in Ukraine

All business is working as usual. Furthermore, Government is looking for a way to simplify the life of businessmen, – it is clearly seen in the laws passed lately and fighting against corruption. In Doing Business 2014 Ranking Ukraine has improved its rate for 28 positions comparing to 2013. And it’s more persuasive than any words.

TRUE: UKRAINIAN ECONOMY IS IN A GOOD SHAPE DESPITE THE ONGOING DEVELOPMENTS

Myth: Ukrainian economy is going to collapse

The International Monetary Fund has approved a loan for Ukraine to help the country’s economy. We got financial help from USA and EU, so there is nothing to be worried about, both for Ukraine and its partners. Ukraine is also getting back the money that was illegally taken out from the public purse throughout the last years, these illegal flows are constantly getting arrested and compensated.

As you see, Ukraine is living its daily life and working hard on making it better. Still, if you have any hesitations, you can always come to Ukraine and see it yourself. It’s really beautiful in the summer.
